Business Coach

September 2022 - July 2023


Cathy Forner was a Career Mentor for this unique initiative of Economic Development Lethbridge. RWEIT is dedicated to supporting self-identified women and non-binary entrepreneurs in rural Alberta who develop tech enabled, scalable product or service that can demonstrate value and desirability in the marketplace. A total of 37 hours of coaching was delivered to 10 participants over an 11-month program. 


As a Career Mentor, Cathy's role included the following: 

  • Recruit and engage program clients. Conduct client intake and orientation.  

  • Act as point of contact for questions and concerns and escalate issues as appropriate. 

  • Advise and coach women entrepreneurs, from intake through the entire entrepreneurial journey to ensure a smooth and barrier free opportunity to develop, grow, and scale their business.  

  • Co-create, with the client, a work plan to address their needs and connect then to both RWEIT program supports and other resources in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.  

  • Follow up on client progress and update CRM and other data collection platforms as needed.  

  • Collaborate with internal team members to address customers’ needs. 

  • Input data into CRM and other data collection platforms and track key client metrics.  

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of programs and services in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.  

  • Provide written and verbal progress reports identifying: recruitment/ engagement activities, # of clients engaged, success stories, trends and identify areas where RWEIT program can fill gaps in service offerings across Alberta. 

  • Attended and presented at the Indigenous Business Builders Series
